A Song After Psalm 40

(break)

I waited patiently for the LORD,
and He has heard my cry.
I was sinking deep and He lifted me
and set my feet upon the rock.

He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see the wonder of His Love,
and put their trust in Him.

Blessed are they who trust in God
and not in the things of this world.
For many are your wonders, LORD,
your plans are beyond imagining.

Sacrifice and offerings
you do not desire,
but then I said, ÒHere I am,
I desire to do your will,
your Law is written on my heart.Ó

I will proclaim your righteousness
in the great assembly,
I will praise your Love and Truth
and I will not be silent.

For my troubles are without number,
my sins have overwhelmed me.
Many are my troubles, LORD,
and my heart fails within me.

Save me, O LORD, come quickly,
O my God, do not delay.
For I am poor and needy,
and you, O LORD, are my help.

May all who seek you
be glad and rejoice!
